The "Ute Canyon Trail" in Colorado National Monument, Colorado. A large portion of the "Liberty Cap Trail", which connected me to this one, was extremely steep and strenuous. I was not expecting that. It was only my second hike of the year (my 1st was a day earlier). Caught off guard, I started out just before afternoon heat set in. It was about 100 degrees in early June.
