This area -- known as "LeHardys Rapids" -- is located a few miles north of Yellowstone Lake on the shoreline of the Yellowstone River . The parking area is easy to miss if you are not looking for it. Once there, walk down a few dozen steps to view scenic areas from the lower boardwalk. This includes rocks located both on the river bank and out in the water . This Yellowstone Park location is quiet and beautiful.
